One-Layer Wednesday 106

The One-Layer Wednesday challenge this week, hosted by Heather Telford, is to make a one-layer card using sponging.  I love sponging and inking, but have never used masking to create snowdrifts as Heather does on so many of her cards.  Using her tutorial and CASEing any number of her cards, I gave it a whirl.

My fifth attempt (yes, fifth!) was decent, but I didn't like the sentiment I chose.  I cut it down and mounted it on a white card base.  Not thrilled with the second sentiment, either, but I'm calling it good!

Thanks for visiting.

You have it nailed, Ann! Honestly, my eyes did not even see the sentiment. They were drawn only to that gorgeous wintery scene so expertly "painted!" Awesome job!

So serene and beautiful, your sponged sky is perfect and your snow subtle and realistic. I'd say your first masking and sponging efforts were wonderful. I hope there are many more!

We're our own worst critics, right? I think both versions are just fabulous - the touch of white-on-white matting in the second is definitely calling to me. CAS Christmas cards? Check! Love that gorgeous tree stamp, too :)
Glad to finally be catching up with visiting my fave bloggers - you've been up to some spectacular stuff!
