Three butterflies

The challenge at Less is More is to use the number three - three stamps, three images, three somethings. . . .  I'm sure I'm not the only one to combine this challenge with sketch 199 at Clean and Simple stamping.

I took the sketch literally and used butterfly stamps.  I started out with Hero Arts designer butterflies.  I was trying out different color combinations when my favorite butterfly broke while cleaning it!  Has this ever happened to anyone before?  It was so sad.  I love that butterfly and I wasn't cleaning it that vigorously, merely wiping some ink off!

At any rate, I switched over to Martha Stewart doily lacy butterflies and used just one color, Brilliance Mediterranean blue, for a classic blue and white card.  I cut my card narrower than usual and combined one larger butterfly with two smaller.  I added a PTI sentiment from damask designs and some bling to each butterfly, making this card also fit the One-Layer Wednesday challenge to create a one-layer birthday card with bling.

I've just returned home again from another short trip, this time to the beautiful Oregon Coast with my two daughters, my mom, and my mother-in-law.  It's a lovely tradition for my girls to have these memories with their grandmas.  And so lovely for me to come home to such friendly comments on my blog.  Thank you for your visits and your kind words.

Ann

Gorgeous card to combine all 3 challenges! Love those butterflies! Sorry about your stamp - I've mostly ripped them taking them off the original backing plastic, never cleaning them.

Ann, your card is beautiful! I've never had a stamp break...was it old? I do love these MS butterflies, though...so pretty! Thanks for sharing pics from the Oregon Coast, too...I've never been there but it sure looks beautiful! What a nice tradition...I'm sure your daughters will tell their daughters stories about these trips some day....how wonderful!

Beautiful CAS card, Ann, perfect for all the challenges! I'm so sorry about your butterfly stamp! A good head's up to the rest of us to be extra, extra careful!

Thanks for sharing your tender story of the trip to the Oregon coast (heaven!) with the grandmas.

NOOO! Broken butterfly :( I've ripped them taking them off the original backing, and I've had sentiments finally tear while cleaning (older, cheapie ones, used MANY times). Very sad & strange - Hero Arts is such an amazing company, though, that I wonder if you wrote to them & told them what happened, if they might replace it? Worth a shot.
I love the card with the blinged bodies & the blue just pops against the white!
An all girls vacation tradition sounds like a wonderful thing - not just for your girls but for all of you :)

Beautiful butterfly card, Ann. I love the color you've used and the addition of the bling is perfect. I've never torn a stamp cleaning it, but I've torn quite a few just trying to get them off the acetate they come on...ruined some, but most can be "pushed" together and I can still use them.
