How Charming

The challenge at Less is More is to use a charm on your card.  I used an anchor charm to make two nautical-themed cards using Guiding Light from wplus9 stamps.  The first card uses the larger 2-step lighthouse stamp in two colors.  The second uses the smaller lighthouse in blue only.

I'm not a big spender and am generally pretty slow to make purchases (my husband might not agree).  However, when I saw this set recently I bought it without a second thought!  I also purchased the Mother's Day Bouquet set and would have bought the pocketful set if it hadn't been sold out.  I love these stamps and expect to be using them a lot.

Last week's Less is More challenge was a real doozy - to doodle on a one-layer card.  I actually did make a card for the challenge, but didn't get it posted in time.  These fuchsias always seem awkward to me when stamped alone, but with a doodled square around each one, I rather like them.  I was inspired by some Hero Arts stamps I've seen with a flower inside a square.

Another CR84FN 52

I'm back this morning with a second card for the lovely CR84FN color challenge.  On this card I used the flowers I had planned to use on yesterday's card.  I used the Memory Box cherry blossom die to cut the flower out of vintage cream and sponged some pink along the edges to give a hint of color.  The flower centers are cut from pink cardstock from my scrap box and finished off with pink brads.

While they didn't work on the card I made yesterday, I still wanted to use them, so I put together a card that is quite different from what I normally do.  It was fun to experiment with a different style.  The sentiment is a little wonky.  My gridded acrylic block has gone missing and I'm lost without it!
